Jesuit institutions of Higher Education in North America and Europe are facing a decline in the number of Jesuits teaching. More and more lay faculty are being recruited—and bringing with them their own distinctive gifts and talents. This significant shift in faculty membership, however, raises the question of how it is possible for
teaching staff to share the Ignatian theological vision that lies at the heart of a Jesuit institution. And this question leads to a more
fundamental one: is there such a vision? If so, what is it, and how does it inform Ignatian pedagogy?
