The teacher preparation program in a Jesuit liberal arts college prepares future teachers to identify and actively confront inequities in society. Empowering teachers to carry justice-oriented teaching into schools rests on strong relationships among peers and professors on campus, and with students and families from diverse communities in university neighborhoods. The rationale and approach to fostering relationships focuses this essay.
